'One of the finest artists working in the genre'

The Golf Mk1 is one of Giorgetto Giugiaro’s most successful designs and set the benchmark for affordable and practical sports car for decades.

The car featured in this commission is a ‘Campaign’ Special Edition GTI of which only 1000 were produced, this one being finished in Lhasa Green Metallic.

The painting is 378 x 300mm in size and executed in Oils onto a specially fabricated Aluminium panel. The striped background design was inspired by the unique seat fabric and the VW and GTI badges were polished to subtly stand out from the background.

Although most of my paintings are frameless, this one has been framed and mounted in Grey Aluminium which compliments the colours of the painting while the non-reflective ‘art glass’ is practically invisible.
